You have read it on the net: site builder are useless, scams or even evil software packages you should stay away. But are these assumptions correct and using site builder are really something you should avoid by all means?
Let's take a quick look what site builders are: These are tools who help you to build a site very quickly with the possibility to create a site with perhaps even thousand pages a day or several smaller sites with different topics.
The problems associated with site builder are:
- Using build-in Templates..every site is looking equally.
- Contents is not unique, build from RSS feeds or imported directly from article directories.
- Site builders are being used to build MFA (Made for AdSense) sites with the solely purpose to attract visitors to the ads being displayed and to monetize from it
Let's discuss these important points...
1. Using build-in templates do unfortunatelly make a site looking identically to everyone else has ever purchased the same site builder package. But this can be avoided by designing your own templates (which isn't that difficult) and using them instead. Most, if not all commercial site builder do allow the integration of your own templates - and thus permitting a very different design from anyone else. Highly recommend approach! But if you don't have the skills to do so, try to remove a few buttons and or links: The design should following your taste and purpose. But most important is the contents, discussed below, so this one should be as unique as possible.
2. Site builder tend to integrate third party articles such as from article sites or via RSS feeds. If time permits (and if the site isn't too large), try to rewrite up to 30% of the provided articles. That would help a great deal to make your site unique. Alternatively, write your own stuff or use PLR article which are being distributed to only a few peoples. But here are the same rules: Rewrite some of the contents if possible. There are software packages who claim to do the rewrite for you so even humans still can read them and the articles do make sense...but search engines getting better detecting those alterations and still may mark them as duplicate contents.
3. Using site builders solely to produce MFA sites is certainly not what your aim should be concentrated on. Use a site builder helps you to avoid doing repeating tasks over and over again but still make the contents unique! Especially Adsense is against MFA site very much and if it detects your one, it will close the adsense account and you can't open it ever again. Perhaps site builder are better used with affiliate programs, but again, you must try to avoid duplicates at all means. If not, your site will be penalized in the way that it will be buried deep down into the organic search results. In any case, make sure your site has definitely more contents than ads.
Remember that you should build yours site for your target audience. If you have nothing to say, perhaps avoid publishing on the Internet altogether. Using a site builder is a very effective way to save considerable time to build a large site but it does not relieve you from your responsibility to make a useful one. A few one's you may consider can be found in our site builder gallery or site builder index.
So site builders are definitely not evil but rather useful tools in your responsibility hands and for your 'White Hat' site building strategies.
